Job Title: Production Manager

Department: Production

Position Overview
Responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing process, the Production Manager will facilitate efficient production by managing staff, scheduling production runs, maintaining quality control, optimizing workflows, and coordinating with other departments to meet production deadlines and quality standards, all while adhering to company policies and safety regulations; key responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring production progress, troubleshooting issues, training operators, and identifying areas for improvement to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. 

Essential Job Functions

• Production Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and implement detailed production schedules based on order requirements, ensuring optimal utilization of machinery and workforce
• Quality Control:
  • Monitor quality standards throughout the sewing process, identifying and addressing any defects to maintain product consistency
• Staff Management:
  • Supervise and motivate a team of sewing operators, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance
• Efficiency Optimization:
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase production efficiency and output
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Oversee the upkeep and regular maintenance of sewing machines and other production equipment
• Problem- Solving:
  • Troubleshoot production inefficiencies or disruptions
• Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and industry standards within the sewing area
• New Product Implementation:
  • Collaborate with design teams to transition new product designs into efficient production processes

 Non-Essential Job Functions

• Be self-motivated, show initiative, and good manufacturing practices
• Ability to work in both hot and cold climates

 Requirements

• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word. Strong computer navigation skills
• Proven experience in textile manufacturing, preferably in a supervisory role within a sewing production environment
• Understanding of sewing operations, machine capabilities, and product construction techniques
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including design, production planning, and quality control
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once

Other Skills/Abilities

• Ability to motivate and manage a team, providing clear direction and feedback
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for hours at a time
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
